Genre is the type of film. there are many genres in the film industry for example romance, horror, comedy and action. Theres a genre for everybody wether you enjoy a scary film or a funny film. producers categorise their films so the audience know what they're going to be expecting in the film.
comedy
this is the genre suited for everyone. I mean everyone loves a laugh right? comedies create a happy atmosphere. They usually consist of a character who is intelligent with their dumb friend. Together they cause caos wherever they go. For example the 1994 comedy film dumb and dumber. this film consists of two hilarious actors. jim Carrey playing Lloyd and Jeff Daniels playing the role of harry. together they create trouble wherever they go. they're trying to do good while returning a briefcase but cause a lot of mischief along the way.
Romance
Romances also called chick flicks due to its main audience who are women. This is a go to genre usually when they feel lonely. It creates a mood of emotion and passion. however this genre can be watched whenever by whoever. Usually in romance films there are two individual who face issues such as financial or illnesses. They meet one another and help each other causing them to feel emotions for each other. Romances mainly end in happiness with a happily forever after. For example the film the vow is an amazing romance made in 2012. It is a story of a couple who are already in love. the character Paige played by Rachel McAdams has a accident which causes her to lose all her memory including her husband Leo played by Channing Tatum. Leo battles for her to remember him and would do anything for her to have her memory back. He has to start his relationship over with him trying to make her love him again. yet things do not go to plan.
